Using Insurance

TherapySmith is not in-network with any insurers. As out-of-network providers, TherapySmith has partnered with Mentaya to help patients save money on therapy. If you have out-of-network benefits, Mentaya will handle everything with insurance to make sure you get your money back.

Mentaya charges a 5% fee per submitted claim. If you'd like to use Mentaya to access your insurance benefits, you can sign up with Mentaya here.

Superbills

If you prefer to submit to your insurance company directly, TherapySmith can also provide you with a superbill on a monthly basis.

Payment

TherapySmith accepts payment via credit card, cash, check, or bank transfer. Payment can be made at time of service or invoiced on a monthly basis. Please discuss your preferred method of payment with your therapist.

Notification Regarding "Good Faith Estimate"

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.

Under the "No Surprises Act," health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.

You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
